Cornucopia Levison’s is a vintage destination tucked away in the streets of East London. The shop features rare and vintage clothing, encompassing workwear, military, tailoring and knitwear and endeavours to track down that elusive one-off piece that defines its ethos.

loom: what got you into vintage clothing?

Levisons: time, place, taste in music

What is your background?

Grew up in North London. Got into art, music, clothes. Found my natural habitat when I got a stall at Camden Market in the early 90s.

When did you set up levisons?

Doors opened 2008

how do you edit your buys? are there any particular pieces that feel very 'levisons'?

Always looking for special pieces that work for us, in particular iconic British items. Film and television are a big influence, think Hell Drivers or Please Sir!

do you specialise in any particular period or type of vintage?

Not specifically but we buy with a discerning eye. It’s got to fit in with what we like.

what are you best known for on the vintage market?

We’re probably best known for top quality schmutter at affordable prices.

how do you find your pieces? do you go to markets or do people come to you?

All of the above, you buy where you find it.

who shops with you?

Who doesn’t?

is there a particular piece that you would never sell?

1970 Umbro Tottenham Tracksuit Top

what piece would be your dream find?

1930s Wall of Death Rider, Herbert “Speedy” Brooker’s Jumper

favourite place to find vintage on your travels?

Can’t beat a flea market especially if it’s not raining.

strangest place that you’ve bought pieces from?

Walworth Surplus Stores. Stacked with amazing old stock. Near impossible to actually buy anything from the unbelievably ill-mannered owner Les. It’s like being in a surreal comedy sketch.
